The Spot Prawn and Fiddle Fest on June 12th will have prawns, fiddles and RUGBY in the form of a bunch of youth rugby activities hosted by JBAA members and Rugby Canada national team players.
For kids from 5 to 12 years there will be a bouncy castle rugby field operating from 11am to 1pm. The Rookie Rugby field will be open to kids by age groups: the first hour is for the younger kids (5-9 years) and the second hour is for older kids (10-12 years). Coaches will run warm ups and games. We encourage our JBAA Minis to wear your orange jerseys from this year!
For kids in the junior age grades (older than 12) there will be players from both the men's and women's National teams on hand to run skill drills from 1 pm to 2 pm. After this warm up there will be a touch rugby jamboree from 2:30 pm to 4pm. Team captain Breanne Nicholas will be on hand along with Bianca Farella and many others including men's team leading scorers Cooper Coats and Jake Thiel.
All activities are open to existing AND NEW rugby players - if you have been curious about rugby then today is a great day to come and a give it a try!
