UPDATED with Jake’s report:
After a couple weeks away on the road, the women’s team finally got the opportunity to play at the mighty Fortress that is Macdonald park. The sidelines were packed with bay alum, who were ready to see the big blue continue their winning ways. Langley showed up with two teams worth of people and showed they were a step up from past competition, putting points up quickly on a stunned JBAA squad. Unfortunately for them, the bays decided to put their foot on the gas from that point forward and never looked back.
The girls put forth one of their most impressive wins of the season, with signature bone crunching tackles from Sarina Brooks and Theresa Degroot-Francis, as well as full field scampers from Raelee Mulholland and Caelyn Huebner. The amount of points was impressive but what was more impressive was the way that they were executed. The bays scored in every way possible, orchestrated by playmaking maestro Hunter Czeppel and tactical mastermind Erin West. Fancy footwork, outrageous offloading and tactical kicking, the bays pulled out all the stops for the home crowd. A special shout out is needed for the JBAA front row, who might go down in the history books as the most dominant 10 aside scrum known to man.
