Baylea is one of our wonderful Mighty Minis coaches (wrangling the U7 group) and she is spear heading a charity fundraiser for KidSport. Baylea is the owner of Baylea Wilkins Fitness and has three active boys. She’s grateful that her family can afford to register them in organized sport and she wants every family to have the same opportunities.
Last year, with the help of her team, she started the Burpess for Charity event to raise money for KidSport - an organization that helps families pay the registration fees for various sports (JBAA is an approved KidSport club). Her goal then was to raise $100,000 which would help approximately 300 kids play organized sport, kids that may not otherwise have the chance. At the end of the event, Baylea had recruited 50 volunteers and surpassed her goal, raising $113,000!
This year she is doing it again. Baylea feels the need is EVEN GREATER so she is aiming BIGGER as well. Her goal this year is to recruit 100 volunteers and raise $250,000. The event will be on July 23, 2022 - location in Victoria is still to be determined. Stay tuned.
We encourage all our members to consider getting involved. Want to know how you can help?
This year there will be a kid’d division - KIDS HELPING KIDS - where each child would commit to doing 100 burpees (10 every 3 minutes) and raise $50. No worries if the younger kids can’t quite manage this, it is for FUN and helps get them involved in something BIGGER than themselves.
Adults can get involved by forming teams and then each individual selects a burpee goal that would challenge them and a fundraising goal of $2,500.
Bring some toonies with you to any Minis event coming up - Sundays from 10 - 11 - to purchase freezies with all proceeds going to Burpees for Charity.
