The Vancouver Island Rugby Referees Society (VIRRS) is holding a Level 1 Rugby Referee Course at our club on Sunday, September 11th.

The VIRRS continue to be short of members in general, but especially for games Nanaimo and north, and even more so at the Men's Division 1 level. We are at the point for the 2022-23 in the North Island where it will be a challenge to be able to guarantee ref allocations for all levels.

The details for the course is as follows:

• To be delivered by qualified World Rugby educator John de Goede

• Starting at 9am and finishing at 3:30pm approx. (times may change)

• BC Rugby / Rugby Canada / World Rugby sanctioned course.

• Indoor and outdoor sessions

• Open to all ages.

• Match official registration and allocation processes (for both Referee and Assistant Referee roles) to be covered at end of the course.

Please also note that the VIRRS will reimburse the course registration fees for any course attendee who joins the VIRRS and accepts 5 referee/assistant referee allocations/events.
